Why COE position matters

In Singapore, the COE is the single largest determinant of a used car's value. Two identical cars with different COE time remaining will trade at materially different prices.

Short COE zone (â‰¤3 years remaining): the cheapest way into a Singapore car. Many first-time buyers and short-term owners stay in this zone. Maximum loan tenure is constrained, exit options (renew, deregister, scrap, export) need to be planned before purchase.
