How PARF is calculated

PARF depends on the car's age at deregistration and the ARF that was originally paid. The current banded schedule (LTA) is broadly:

Under 5 years old: 75% of ARF (subject to prevailing policy)
5 to under 6 years: 70% of ARF
6 to under 7 years: 65% of ARF
7 to under 8 years: 60% of ARF
8 to under 9 years: 55% of ARF
9 to under 10 years: 50% of ARF
10 years or older: no PARF rebate

How to use the PARF rebate calculator

PARF stands for Preferential Additional Registration Fee — it's the portion of the ARF (Additional Registration Fee) you can claw back from LTA when you deregister your car. If your car is under 10 years old at deregistration, LTA refunds a percentage of the ARF based on the car's age. The earlier you deregister within those 10 years, the more you get back.
